TIPPING POINT COMMUNITY
I’ve served as a lead writer and producer of the annual Tipping Point Breakfast, an event honoring those creating opportunities for all to prosper in the Bay Area. In close collaboration with Tipping Point staff and grantees, I source and develop original stories related to issues of housing, health, education, and the workforce. The event features approximately 12 speakers each year and is attended by up to 400 people.

Embrace Ambition Summit
TORY BURCH FOUNDATION
I conduct research and prepare briefs to guide onstage conversations at the Embrace Ambition Summit, part of Tory Burch Foundation's global initiative to upend bias around gender, race, and sexuality. Over 1,000 people attend the event in NYC and thousands more participate via livestream. Speakers have included Gloria Steinem, Min Jin Lee, Billie Jean King, Dolores Huerta, Deja Foxx, and Diane von Furstenberg.
TIPPING POINT COMMUNITY
After working on the creative team behind the Tipping Point Benefit from 2010 to 2016, I moved into the role of creative director, head writer, and co-producer in 2017. I oversaw all storytelling, branding, and graphics; drove creative concepts for film and interactive; and collaborated on fundraising. The one-night event raised $16.9 million from a sold-out crowd of 1,300 guests at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. 100% of proceeds go to local education, employment, housing, and early childhood programs.

IDEO
I conducted interviews and wrote first-person narratives exploring the role of community in changing student outcomes to complement a series of short films produced by the IDEO Teacher’s Guild. The stories were published on EdSurge.

RAISE FOR GOOD
Pillar is a first-of-its-kind economic recovery model supporting small businesses at the heart of local communities in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. I co-led brand positioning, messaging, and copywriting for the two-year effort, working on everything from the organization's website to marketing, community partnership, and press materials.

GENENTECH
Resilient Beginnings Collaborative is a $20 million initiative created by Genentech and Center for Care Innovations to identify and treat childhood trauma across 50,000 Bay Area families. I interviewed medical directors, clinicians, and staff in five safety-net pediatric clinics and wrote a set of articles published on gene.com.

I oversaw Tipping Point’s first-ever effort to engage families with young children in its work to create opportunities for those in need in the Bay Area. We built a new event series, facilitated volunteer opportunities at grantee sites, and produced activity kits, equipping families to develop their own mission statements.

LARKIN STREET YOUTH SERVICES
Rising Up is a $35 million public/private partnership between 10 city agencies and six non-profits to reduce youth homelessness in San Francisco by 50% by 2023. I provided creative direction and wrote content for a suite of launch materials (website, case statement, fundraising deck) and co-produced a monthly event series featuring local housing and youth development experts and service providers.

I led the concepting and writing process to establish Tipping Point's annual messaging and branding theme for 2017 — the simple idea that more unites us than divides us. Together with Elixir Design, we created a hand-stitched print mailer, email templates, and animated web banners to drive year-end fundraising. The campaign generated $3.8 million to alleviate poverty in the Bay Area.

I worked alongside Grace Cathedral’s executive team to capture the organization's three-year strategic vision and interviewed board, staff, and congregants to represent perspectives from across the community. I oversaw graphic design and provided creative direction for the report in its final print and digital forms.

As creative director and writer for Tipping Point's digital annual report, I oversaw the process to come up with the creative concept, managed the build-out and design of the custom site, and led collaboration with in-house program and impact teams.
